i9 9920X True Market Value vs 3900X
If I understand correctly, not only is the 3900X less than ½ the cost of the 9920X, but it’s faster on top of it at 2/3 the TDP?! What is the price premium for a 9920X motherboard as well?
Assuming the 3900X shows to be at least equally fast as the 9920X, what does that make the 9920X worth? It would seem the TDP difference alone knocks the 9920X to close to $400 value. Now figure in the lower motherboard costs, what the extra performance is worth, etc.
I know we can’t say for sure until 3rd party benchmarking, but based on what you’ve seen today, what’s the most YOU would pay for a 9920X now? I don’t see why someone would pay more than $400-450 for one.
